Google Satellite Maps of Important Places of South India

We everyone would like to see the map of our own city, state, country and also of the world. Maps are the things which have been familiar from our school studying days. In this computer world Google has made a great work called Google Maps. These maps are not only showing the maps of our country and also of our street's. We every one can create our own maps and edit them according to our knowledge. In this blog I have added few maps of some important places in South India.

Let us share some of them.

The above shown image is map of Cape comorin which is the southern most point of India. It is very popular tourist centre. It will be very nice to enjoy sun rise and sun set there. Three seas are uniting here and there is a temple for Goddess Kanyakumari. So it is called by Her name. The other two important attractions here are Shri Vivekananda rock and Shri Thiruvalluvar statue. Both of them have been shown by the blue colored place marks.

The above one is map of Madurai, the second largest city of Tamil Nadu with a population of more than 18 lacs. It is famous for Shri Meenakshi Temple and Jasmine flower. Thiruparankundram one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga is situated in Madurai. Shri Meenakshi temple was built many centuries back and it is noted for great architecture and colorful paintings. This is a complex temple in which there is also a temple for Shri Sundareswarar. Thirumalai Naikar Mahal is another attraction of Madurai. Every year thousands of tourists from domestic and foreign countries are coming here to enjoy.

Madurai is also famous for Bull fight which will be conducted around Mdaurai every year during Pongal Festival.

0oty is one of the most beautiful hill staions of India. It is also celebrated as Queen of Hills with its steepy mountains, variety of green woods and many tea estates. The town is elevated at 2,280 m from msl and having total area of 36 sq km. Ooty receives good rainfall from both South-West and North-East monsoons with average annual fall of 120 cm. Its maximum temperature on summer days never crosses 25 degree centigrade and the minimum temperature in winter touches zero degree centigrade. To enjoy the pleasant climate many thousands of tourists are coming every year from various parts of the world. The ideal time to visit Ooty is just before weeks of the onset of South-west monsoon AS we can enjoy nice breeze at that time.

Ooty Boat House lake, Ooty Children's Park, Ooty Botanical Garden and Dodda Betta Peak are some of the important places here to visit. The river Pykara is flowing in this area. Traveling to Ooty by train will give very thrilling experience to anyone as it'll run through many number of tunnels.

Cochin is the second largest city in Kerala. It is a twin city and Ernakulam is another city. Cochin is also proudly called as Queen of Spices since it exports large amount of cardamom and other spices to various parts of the world. The harbour of Cochin is natural and big one.

Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka and sixth largest city of India. It is called as Garden city as it is surrounded by many beautiful gardens. Bangalore is also noted for many electronic industries and perfumery industries.

Chennai is the capital city of Tamil Nadu and fourth largest city of India. It has a huge population of about 8 millions. It has many attractive places to see. Shri Valluvar Kottam, Guindy Snake Park, Marina Beach, Vandalur Zoo are some of them. There are also some important temples in the city. They are Shri Vadapalani Temple, Shri Karumari Amman Temple and Ashta Laxmi Amman Temple. Chennai is the central place for variety of industries. It is also proudly called as Gate Way of South India.
