Google Satellite Maps of Important Places of South India

We everyone would like to see the map of our own city, state, country and also of the world. Maps are very familiar things since our school days. In today's Internet world, Google has made a great work called 'Google Maps'. These maps are not only showing the maps of our country, but also of our street's. Google permits to create our own maps and edit them according to our knowledge. In this blog,  I have added a few maps of some important cities in South India.

Let us see some of them.

The above shown is the map of Cape comorin which is the southern most point of India. It is very popular tourist centre where one can enjoy the sun rise and also the sunset. An interesting fact about this place is, that. three seas namely Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean are uniting here, and there is a temple for Goddess Kanyakumari.. So, it is called by her name. The other two important attractions here are Shri Vivekananda rock and Shri Thiruvalluvar statue. Both of them have been shown in the map by blue colored place marks.

The above one is map of Madurai, the third largest city of Tamil Nadu, with a population of more than 18 lacs. It is famous for Shri Meenakshi Temple and Jasmine flower. Thiruparankundram, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga is situated in Madurai. Shri Meenakshi temple was built many centuries back, and it is noted for great architecture and colorful paintings. This is a complex temple, in which there is also a temple for Shri Sundareswarar and other deities. Thirumalai Naikar Mahal is another attraction of Madurai where you can view very huge pillars and sculptures of ancient Tamil Nadu.. Every year thousands of tourists from domestic and foreign countries are coming here to enjoy. .Madurai is also famous for Bull fight which will be conducted around Mdaurai every year during Pongal Festival.

0oty, the most beautiful hill staion of India,  is also celebrated as Queen of Hills with its steep mountains, variety of green woods and many tea estates. It has an elevation of 2,280 m above sea level and total area of 36 sq km. Ooty receives plenty of rainfall from both South-West and North-East monsoons, with average annual fall of 120 cm. Its maximum temperature on summer days never crosses 25 degree centigrade, and the mercury touches zero on winter days. To enjoy the pleasant climate and breathtaking natural scenes, many thousands of tourists are coming every year from various parts of the world and country.. The ideal time to visit Ooty is just 2 or 3 weeks before the onset of South-west monsoon, as we can enjoy nice breeze at that time.

Ooty Boat House lake, Ooty Children's Park, Ooty Botanical Garden and Dodda Betta Peak are some  important places here to visit. The river Pykara is an important river flowing in this area. Traveling to Ooty by train would be a great and unforgettable experience to anyone, since it'll run through many number of tunnels before reaching the hill station..

Acclaimed as the 'Queen of Spices', Cochin is the second largest city in Kerala. It's am island and a twin city, and the other one Ernakulam is situated on the main land. A long road bridge is connected these two cities. It is known for the large amount of exports of cardamom and other spices to various parts of the world. The harbour of Cochin is natural and big one.

Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, is the sixth largest city of India. It is proudly called as Garden city, as it is surrounded by many beautiful gardens like Cubbon Park a. Bangalore has recently emerged as an IT hub of the country. It is also known for perfumery industries..

Fourth largest city of India, Chennai,  is the capital of Tamil Nadu. The population is about 8 millions.. Shri Valluvar Kottam, Guindy Snake Park, Marina Beach, Vandalur Zoo are some omportant places to visit here  It boasts many Hindu temples like, Shri Vadapalani Temple, Shri Karumari Amman Temple and Ashta Laxmi Amman Temple. In the last two decades, it has great development all types of industries. It is also proudly called as Gate Way of South India.
